Our goal is to build a clear, definite, and efficient management structure that effectively allocates resources and guides our company in leveraging sustainable development to mitigate operational risks, promote business innovation, and improve corporate competitiveness.
Goldwind has formulated a strategic plan for sustainable development under the vision of “leading the wind power industry to green and sustainable development and building ourselves into an international wind power giant recognized by the society”. Our company takes “integrating social responsibilities and sustainable development concepts into corporate management and operation for optimization and internalizing those concepts with Goldwind’s culture and conduct codes so as to develop a sustainable development mode with Goldwind characteristics and provide support for Goldwind’s goal to achieve overall sustainable development and strategies” as its aim. Based on actual business operations, Goldwind will identify important issues, set goals, and determine action plans regarding sustainable development in the five aspects of integrity and compliance operation, green operation, sustainable wind power industry chain, fair and healthy working environment and harmonious community relations.
The comprehension, recognition and endorsement of stakeholders play a crucial role in Goldwind’s fulfillment of social responsibilities and sustainable development. Therefore, we persistently engage in dialogue with all relevant parties, understand their interests and expectations regarding sustainable development and ESG management and communicate Goldwind’s dedication and action plans to them. Our company will maintain close connections with stakeholders through sustainable development reports, interviews and researches, conferences and forums and international cooperation to ensure continuous improvement in our sustainable development. In 2022, our company conducted in-depth communications with institutional investors, customers, financing institutions and other stakeholders, gaining their trust and support. In the meantime, we established partnerships with them on critical issues including carbon neutrality and climate change, furthering our efforts in sustainable development.
In April 2021, Goldwind became a member of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), committing to support the ten Principles of the Global Compact in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. Goldwind aims to integrate the Global Compact and its principles into the company's strategy, culture and daily operation. Additionally, Goldwind actively participates in collaborative projects that promote the UN SDGs.
Goldwind has collaborated with 17 globally influential power companies, major manufacturers in the wind and solar industries, industry associations, and innovation partners to establish the Global Alliance for Sustainable Energy. This alliance focuses on cooperation and innovation and implementing more strategic and ambitious sustainable development actions. Through these efforts, Goldwind leads and drives the sustainable development of the global renewable energy industry.
The manifesto calls on governments to take measures to widen the application of wind power and renewable energy to effectively deal with climate change and control the temperature rise within 1.5°C. Goldwind is one of the initiators of the manifesto.
In 2019, the China ESG Leaders Organization was established by Chinese companies that excel in ESG performance, in collaboration with Sina Finance. The members are committed to jointly promoting and implementing such values as sustainable development, responsible investment and ESG practices. By enhancing the overall ESG management level, they aim to lead the industry in adopting the best practices of and establishing Chinese enterprises as leaders in ESG on the global stage.
In 2021, Goldwind joined the "Mission Innovation" and "Green Powered Future Mission" initiatives, committed to continuing to promote wind power technology research and engineering promotion, to contributing to achieving 100% utilization of renewable energy in different geographical and climatic conditions in the world.
The "Mission Innovation" is a global multilateral cooperation mechanism in clean energy launched at the 2015 UN Climate Change Conference (COP21). At present, approximately 24 countries are participating in this initiative. The "Green Powered Future Mission" initiative is a joint effort of 11 members of the "Mission Innovation" to promote scientific investment in clean energy and build a green, safe and intelligent future power system.
Goldwind will abide by the concept of “integrity and compliance, operation according to laws”, and constantly improve the corporate governance and compliance management system for better governance. In the meantime, we strengthen our efforts in implementing anti-corruption and constantly optimize the anti-corruption mechanism related to supervision, inspection and restriction. We also pay attention to the social responsibilities involved in procedures such as the R&D and design, manufacturing, transportation and O&M of wind turbines.
